We have partnered with renowned photographer and Africa expert, Jeff Engel (more on Jeff below!), to bring you an experience that will be etched in your memory for your entire life.
This 9 day / 8 night trip is fully all-inclusive (save for your airfare to and from Johannesburg, South Africa and alcohol) and is carefully curated to bring YOU the experience of your life. WHAT SKILL LEVEL IS REQUIRED?
Our workshops are specifically designed to catered to photographers of ALL SKILL LEVELS! We simply ask that you have at least a basic understanding of how your camera functions and that you bring the required and recommended equipment that we suggest so that you may get the most out of this workshop!
WORKSHOP ITINERARY
Day 1 - Monday, July 14, 2024

Arrive in Johannesburg, South Africa early-mid afternoon

Initial Meet and Greet

Settle into lodging and enjoy an amazing fireside dinner in the African bush!
Day 2 - Day 8
-
Our days will be ACTION PACKED as we embark on truly epic adventures that consist of early morning and late afternoon excursions into the bush. You will experience sights, sounds, and emotions the likes of which you have only dreamed of.

We will have opportunities to visit areas such as Kruger National Park, as well as many others, to photograph the Big 5: Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Buffalos, and Rhinos!

Visit, photograph, and experience Blyde River Canyon - the world's 3rd largest canyon!

We will also have options to visit an Elephant rehab center and experience tree houses that put you head height for giraffe!

Evenings will include post-processing and photography education opportunities.

For this dream workshop, you will have a total of four guides: 319 Photography's owner Tony Hebert, renowned wildlife photographer Jeff Engel, and our two native born South African drivers Daniel and Dorea Dutoit!

JEFF ENGEL

Jeff is an award winning nature and wildlife photographer, television personality, and best selling author. Nature and wildlife photography are both Jeff’s specialty and passion. His goal is to take breathtaking photographs that tell a story.
As host and executive producer of the award-winning, nationally televised outdoor adventure television series, “Engel's Outdoor Experience", Jeff has traveled and filmed as far North as the Arctic Circle, as far South as South America, as far West as New Zealand, and as far East as Africa.
Jeff has also appeared on ABC, CBS, PBS, Outdoor Channel, and FOX TV, to discuss animal behavior and nature.
Over the past 20 years, Jeff has guided amazing South African Photography Safaris during the months of July and August. With Jeff's experience and expertise, a photography adventure with him on board is truly a unique opportunity to see and experience nature, first hand, with safe, seasoned professionals.

DANIEL & DOREA DUTOIT
Our hosts and guides, Daniel and Dorea DuToit, are both native born in South Africa. They are highly seasoned guides and are keenly aware of the needs of a nature and wildlife photographer.
They speak the native Afrikaans language as well as fluent English. Throughout the trip, they have abundant knowledge about animals and the culture of South Africa. They have a wonderful sense of humor and they are both filled with exciting stories from the African bush.
On top of all of this, they know where the animals are and their mission and passion is to get clients in front of animals for outstanding photography opportunities.
WHAT ARE THE ACCOMMODATIONS LIKE?
Your comfort is paramount during our workshop and we go above and beyond to achieve that goal! Throughout the trip, we will stay in high quality, clean, modern African bush camps and private chalets that are hand-selected, modern, private, and offers modern restrooms.


WHAT ABOUT MEALS?
As part of the magic of this experience, our meals features South African cuisine and showcase cultural delicacies that will delight your tastebuds! We will also have more Western style food options. Regardless, the quality of the meals are second to none and offer variety, amazing taste, and stunning presentations.

ADDITIONAL SAFARI WORKSHOP DETAILS

Vehicles used during the excursions are large modern vehicles! We limit three students per vehicle so that everyone is ensured a comfortable trip and every participant has a window seat!

During excursions, we will plan restroom breaks approximately every two hours at modern facilities
-
Your safety is an absolute priority! Rest assured you will be on this adventure with experienced, knowledgeable guides who have intimate local knowledge of wildlife, the landscape, and the culture. Also, we will stay in incredibly safe areas enclosed within electrical fences.

Tuition covers double occupancy lodging. Single Occupancy Supplemental is $1800.00
PRE-TRIP VIDEO CONFERENCE

We will schedule and plan an online, group video conference for all students with Tony, Jeff, Daniel, and Dorea months before the workshop. The goal of this video conference is to give you a chance to get to know your guides/instructors and gives us a chance to answer questions, provide detailed information about the trip and packing, and to get to know all of you! We will plan this at a time that works for everyone!

We highly recommend all students purchase travel insurance for this trip. Initial deposits are non-refundable. Final deposits will be due four weeks prior to the trip and will be non-refundable at that point.

HOW DOES TUITION WORK?
The total tuition for this workshop is $9975.00 per person (double occupancy).
Single Occupancy Supplement: $1800.00.
Please note on your booking form if you would like single occupancy lodging.
A deposit of $2000.00 is required at booking to reserve your slot.
This deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE and will guarantee you a slot in the workshop.
Final tuition payments are required by June 1, 2024.
